If you've spent more than five minutes on X.com lately, you've noticed: the timeline is drowning in AI-generated content. Engagement-farming threads, synthetic motivational posts, bot-driven reply chains. The signal-to-noise ratio has collapsed. We built something to fix that.
Introducing Slop Detector
Slop Detector is a free Chrome extension that badges tweets on X.com as AI-generated or likely human, directly in your feed. It uses the same AI content analysis engine that powers ScreenComply's document and text review tools. No guessing. No vibes. Actual detection.
Every tweet in your timeline gets a small badge next to the action bar: a red 🤖 for AI-generated content (≥80% confidence) or a green ✓ for likely human. You can run it in auto-scan mode (every tweet gets checked) or manual mode (click the 🔍 icon on tweets you're curious about).
Why X.com Specifically?
X.com has become ground zero for AI-generated noise. The platform's algorithmic feed amplifies engagement regardless of authenticity. Ragebait threads written by GPT-4 get the same distribution as genuine analysis. Bot accounts running AI voice mode churn out hundreds of posts per day. For anyone using X.com for professional research, news monitoring, or industry conversation, this is a serious problem.
We didn't build a generic "AI detector for the web." We built something specifically for the X.com timeline because that's where the problem is worst and where the UX needed to be seamless.
How It Works Under the Hood
ScreenComply supports trustworthy results by reviewing the whole session and flagging concerns for human review, with evidence attached.
The extension also includes a highlight-to-check feature that works on any website. Select any block of text, click "🔍 Slop?", and get an instant AI probability score. Useful for articles, LinkedIn posts, emails, anything you want to verify.

The Bigger Picture
Slop Detector is part of our broader mission: giving organizations and individuals the tools to distinguish authentic human content from AI-generated material. Whether it's a candidate's interview responses, a submitted document, or a tweet in your timeline, the question is the same: Is this real?
We're releasing Slop Detector for free because the AI content problem on social media affects everyone. If you're a ScreenComply customer, it's already connected to your existing API. If you're not, consider this a preview of what our detection engine can do.
